Indisputable Proof Of The Need For Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. Each upgrade items also increases a random substat.
The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item upgrading used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item upgrader kit level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar Item Upgrader Mod from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade items weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool with an button, which displays a preview of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.
Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require a variety of means that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less even when they belong to an entirely different set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific upgrades to the level of an item. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.
The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear that you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character that will be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
