World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all its leveled up perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, dependent on the upgrader and what type of upgrade you choose to perform. This is due to how many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can use since PvP is not available at lower levels. The average item level upgrade level is listed on the character sheet.

The level of an item will allow players to compare the potency of gear when they decide to buy or sell. It's an indicator of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the item level.

The level of the item can be seen by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full description of the item, as well as its level. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated by formulas that determine the worth of an item's stats actually are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different values and that gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is usually very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

It's not the only thing that affects the value of an item. The location of where the item was dropped may change its stats. For instance, it could increase the item's haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game utilizes them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to motivate players to explore other weapons. The stat mods on an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by the player's level.

The upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. An item that is white or grey, for example, will only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher costs.

Another method to alter the stats on an item is through affixes. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes could be used to give the item upgrader mod extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting a special name to the item.

All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges similar to other rerolling methods.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within the specified range, unless it's an item that is unique or the result of a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that can be modified by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would have to be performed on a per-Best item upgrader level, and the item compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more useful in the initial game run than later ones as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each item level. They can also be increased by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, with a default value of 40. These items can be improved with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to increase the value of 40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be found in the shops or made by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item if it is not successful.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The percentage of success can only be increased so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item can influence the success of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5%.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader (M.Jingdexian.Com) CORE client config.
