10 Misconceptions That Your Boss May Have Regarding Item Upgrade

From RagnaWorld Wiki

WoW Upgrades - The item upgrading Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item level upgrade (more helpful hints) by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrading upgrader allows players to upgrade items their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item upgrading and the current item upgrader mod level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is even if those items are from an entirely different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type or equipment being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The use of these currencies isn't too complicated however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
