World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. The value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader you choose and the type of upgrade you choose to make. This is because of how many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell equipment players can evaluate the level of an item. It's an excellent indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it's capable of causing. The item level can also be used to evaluate items when evaluating a vendor's inventory.

On PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the item upgrader level is determined. One theory suggests that the item level is calculated using a formula that calculates the value of the stats of an item upgrader kit really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different values and that sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This process could result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is usually close to Blizzard's real item level.

However, this isn't the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, since the level of the area the item is dropped into can change the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can determine the fate of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the best." The base stats of a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while items with rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can do things like give the item upgrading extra damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.

Currently, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items that can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other options for rerolling.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can also choose which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However, all items will contain at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an item that is unique or an item that has a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attachments, or pick which stats to boost. As with the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are created by loot and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial in the early game, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each item level. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck, or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Additionally some items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shop or created with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item if it is not successful.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to how much success rates can be increased and the probability of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.

The performance of an can be affected by the Luck of that item. Each item has an average success rate of 25 percent and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
