World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

item upgrading Level

When an item is upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the fact that many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and can be seen on all tooltips of items. It can also be used to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). The average level of an item can be found on the character sheet.

Using the item level can help players evaluate the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It's a sign of the item's damage and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the item's level.

On your PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full item description, including its value. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then entering /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory states that the item level is determined by a formula that calculates the worth of an item's stats actually are. It considers the fact that various perks have different value and sockets have gems that increase the overall value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, since the level of the region the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for instance by adding an additional level to its haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

The item's stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Another method to alter the stats of an item is by affixing it. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items additional damage or other special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs), or to make them unique by naming them.

All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges similar to other rerolling methods.

Players can choose to upgrade an item with specific stats, or reroll affixes. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the level of the item, but every item upgrader kit is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the range, unless it's an item that is unique or an item that is a God roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another thing that can be modified by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes, or selecting which stats to enhance. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of those properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is especially useful in the early game, because players tend to put weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading that increase with each new level of item. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to give +40 Luck or to increase the existing Luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by five percent. These items can be bought from the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their items if it is not successful.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. Every item has an overall success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This could cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (Get More Information) CORE client config.
