World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and increase other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of its leveled up benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader you choose and the kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

The level of an item is a popular measure of power, and can be found on all tooltips for items. It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to a lower level). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment players can evaluate the item level. It's a sign of the item's damage and its quality. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when looking at the inventory of a seller.

On PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full description of the item, as well as its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are many theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines the amount an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This process could result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to the actual Blizzard level of the item.

This is not the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The degree of the area in which the item dropped can also change its stats. For instance it can add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The item's stats can make or break an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stat mods of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with rare levels will be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to give items extra damage or other special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by naming them.

Currently, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circling arrows. It will cost a set amount of gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other rerolling methods.

Players can upgrade an item by a specific stat or reroll the affixes. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However every item will have at least one stat in the same range, unless it's an exclusive item, or an Best item upgrade that has a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be performed on a per-item basis, and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the likelihood of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is more beneficial in the early game, because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance which increases with each level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of the item up to 140.

Additionally, certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items can be purchased in the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased so much, and the likelihood that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Best item upgrade Upgrader CORE client config.
