Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Armor, shields, and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on their material type) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading the item.
