WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using an The button will display a preview of an item upgrade's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current item upgrading level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via various methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is even if those items come from an entirely different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade item is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The most basic and straightforward upgrade item process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item Level upgrade upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when an item reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them wisely. For instance it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
