Transparent device that can evolve certain Pokemon species. Silph Co. produced it.
The upgrader for items adds a new widget at the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no gameplay benefit other than making it easier to purchase upgrades.
Boosters
There are a variety of boosts available with an item upgrader. They can include a range of stats, as well as many additional bonuses. These bonuses can be used on armor, weapons and trinkets. They can be used to improve the abilities of a character or give a new dimension of variety to their build.
The World of Warcraft upgrade system allows players to upgrade their equipment by paying currency at an upgrader for their item. The system was introduced in Mists of Pandaria and was expanded with the introduction of Warlords of Draenor. It's a great method to boost the level of your gear, allowing you to avoid the tedious grind of completing quests and avoid numerous wipes in Mythicand dungeons.
When an item is upgraded, the type of item it is upgraded to. When upgrading a normal Best item upgrader (go source), it creates an Exceptional item and upgrading an item that is Exceptional will result in an Elite version of the same base item. The item upgrader kit will keep its previous upgrade stats, but will also receive an additional bonus from its new base type. This bonus will be randomly chosen from the following categories: an opportunity to acquire weapons with a higher damage range and a chance to gain an enhanced reload speed or a chance to gain an improved defense roll.
The amount of upgrades you do will determine the amount of extras you will receive. Each upgrade will boost the additional benefits by a factor of one up to a maximum value of 3. Each upgrade will also boost the main stats by +1.
Some upgrades also provide a secondary random boost in addition to stat boosts. These secondary boosts can be very valuable and should be taken into consideration when deciding on which items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are beneficial in certain builds (such Whistan's shield, for FB sorcs) while others can bring significant value to specific collectors.
Some items come with built-in boos that is not useful when upgraded. For example, the Goldwrap has an extra slots for potion. These are often upp'd to inject more value into a perfect or near-perfect item upgrader mod.
Costs
There are a few costs that are associated with upgrades to items. The first is the cost for the upgrade. This cost depends on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it will gain, and can be expensive. Upgrades to a higher level (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be costly.
The second is the cost of the materials required for an upgrade. These items are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. The amount of these items required can be seen in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.
The process of upgrading an item is a complex process that requires time. It could take as long as 8 hours, depending on the magnitude of the upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the new ilvl of the item bonuses, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, as well as other important statistics. In some cases the upgrade will provide additional perks that can be selected from a list of available perks.
Rarely, the new benefits gained will cost more than one perk slot; in these situations the upgrade will replace the most expensive perks. Sometimes, the upgrader will make other modifications to an item, like changing the damage type of a weapon or adding or removing an unwieldy or operational property. The cost for these modifications is determined by the item's current ilvl and may require a specific material, such as the adamantine alloy.
Success Rate
The basis for upgrading items is a chance, and like any random system, there is a chance that the upgrade won't succeed. There are a few methods to increase your odds of success. This includes the use of an item dubbed an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of additional items to the upgrade.
An Upgrade Pity is a product you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chance of an upgrade being successful by some percentage. It is similar to the luck bonus that some items have, but is more stable. This can be added to any weapon or armor and can be used three times.
It is also possible to add a variety of additional materials to the upgrade, increasing the chance of success. These are displayed in a separate window, above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.
Another way to increase the chances of an upgrade achieving success is by using an item called a Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item can be useful if your weapon or piece is nearing or has reached the top level of its tier. This item upgrader mod allows you to upgrade the equipment to the next level without the risk of it breaking.
If an upgrade item is unsuccessful it will be restored to its initial state. This is typically a downgrade, but could also be an upgrade. It is a good idea to save an upgrade for when you're close to the highest level of an item, and then use it as a last resort.
Kafra has a range of products that can be utilized in order to increase the chance of an upgrade succeeding. You can increase your chances of success by enhancing your equipment repeatedly using HD Oridecon and HD Elunium. In the same way, increasing the likelihood to receive a Double Mint from Shoe-Minting a maximum of five times will also improve the chances of success.
Failure Rate
The upgrader of an item allows players to add an extra slot to their equipment. These slots can be used to apply an enchantment or upgrade an item. It is important to note that not all items are upgradeable. The rank of an item will determine the rate at which it can be upgraded and enhanced. The higher the rank, the more Zen and items you will need to upgrade it.
This system is costly, especially if you are looking for high-level gear. Upgrades to weapons and armor can cost up to 100,000 Z or 100 Carnium. As you progress in rank, the chance of success decreases. You can increase the chance of upgrading an item making use of cash shop items.
Normal Upgrade is the most basic upgrade that can be performed on weapons, armor pieces and bikes. It requires different grades of core, depending on the type of item. Most commonly, lower grade items will require cores of lower quality and higher-end items will require higher priced ones.
To carry out a normal upgrade, you must first have the right number of cores. Click the button next to the item you'd like to upgrade after you have the cores. The upgrade window will show an indicator of the percentage of your success chances. This percentage is determined by the upgrade level of the item and the type you have selected.
You can also choose an item that is protected by a safeguard your item in the event of failure. The cost of this protection can vary, but it will always be less expensive than the cost of a new item. The safeguard is only available once per upgrade, and will not expire unless it is re-used.
The interface for the item upgrader can be a bit confusing, but isn't impossible to navigate. The main menu is visible on the left and the upgrade window is on the right. The arrows on the left of the UI depict the various stages of the upgrade process. Click the question mark icon to seek assistance if you're unsure what you're doing. The upgrade process can take as long as five minutes.
