World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all the leveled up advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high depending on the upgrader you choose and what type of upgrade you choose to make. This is due to the sheer number of perks that have to be changed in order to upgrade item an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It also serves to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear since PvP is not available at lower levels. The average item level can be found on the character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item will allow players to compare the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an excellent indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it's capable of causing. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the level of the item.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about how the item level calculation is made. One theory states that the item level is determined by an equation that determines the value of an item's stats really are. It considers the fact that different perks have different worth and that gems in sockets increase the overall value of the item. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this is not the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, since the level of the area the item dropped in can change the value of its stats, for example by adding an additional level to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

Stats on an Best item upgrader are a significant component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item may boost its stats. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded one time, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at more expensive costs.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes could do things like give the item extra damage, add a special ability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the Best item upgrade.

All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges similar to other rerolling methods.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will have at least one stat within the range, unless they are a unique item or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could change is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the affixes, or choose which stats to enhance. But, like base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item basis, and the item level upgrade compare interface will not show all the stats that could be gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are created by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is especially advantageous in early game runs since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each item level. They can also be increased by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons come with the default Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that deals damage by 5percent. These items can be found in the shop or crafted by using the appropriate ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their items if it is not successful.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item upgrader can also affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects could be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
