World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to improve the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item upgrader mod gets upgraded, its stats improve in value. The value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, depending on the upgrader you choose and the kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the fact that many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It also serves to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at a lower level. The average level of an item can be found in the character sheet.

The level of an item will allow players to compare the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It's an indicator of the damage and quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor can be done by using the level of the item.

On your PC, you can check the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are various theories about how the calculation of an item upgrader's level is carried out. One theory suggests that the item level is determined by formulas that determine the value of the stats of an item really are. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and that gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item. This can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is typically close to Blizzard's real item level.

This is not the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may change its stats. For example it can add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The item's stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game makes use of them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to motivate them to try out other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. A white or grey item, for example, will only be upgraded one time, while an item with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is through affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items extra damage or other special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by naming them.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges just like the other rerolling methods.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which of the available stats to be kept on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat within that range unless they are a unique item, or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attachments, or pick which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, this will have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.

item upgrade Luck

The Luck stat of a player can increase the probability of obtaining items as well as the properties created by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves and is thus more beneficial in the early game as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each item level. They can also be increased by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to increase the luck of the item up to 140.

Additionally some items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item in the event that it is not successful.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..

The performance of an can be affected by the luck of the item. Every item has a base success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases that chance by an additional 5%.

The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above items in the inventory. This could block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
