Item Upgrading: It s Not As Expensive As You Think

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will increase an additional 3% of the previous damage each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment that has a slot. The item upgrader mod must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix that alters the name of the item to which it is applied (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon a reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade item is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.

You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without any restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that boosts a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of Glyphs Glyph will boost all the nodes that are connected to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for example should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an individual player improves an item the original item will be replaced with the new item. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage since the item may increase in price even if you do not need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial but it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by an increment of 10. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The item upgrader allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and armor) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the item upgrader kit, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state, which requires the player to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or speed of reload). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item Upgrader Mod is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade.
