Nine Things That Your Parent Taught You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase the rarity of an item or mark Level and boost additional stats.
Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's stats base increase when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high depending on the upgrader you choose and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.
Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips for items. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear, since PvP is limited at lower levels. The average level of an item can be found in the character sheet.
The level of an item will allow players to compare the strength of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a sign of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done by using the item's level.
The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories about how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and that sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This could result in a calculated item's ilvl that is often very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
This isn't the only thing that affects the level of an item upgrader kit. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may alter its stats. For example, it could add a level to the item's haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher ilvl.
Item Stats
Item stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modifications that are in turn increased by the player's skill.
The upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. A white or grey item for instance, can only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with more expensive costs.
Another way to change the stats on an item is by affixing it. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and they come in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can provide the item additional damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding a special name to the item.
Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circles arrows. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold and other items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.
Players can choose to upgrade an item to specific stats or reroll the affixes. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will have at least one stat in that range unless they are an item that is unique, or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.
This is another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. Similar to base equipment, it will have to be done per item level upgrade and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats at once.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the intensity of those properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is especially advantageous for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of an item, up to 140.
Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by 5percent. These items can be bought at the store or crafted using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Item upgrades are a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.
The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..
The performance of an upgrade is also affected by the Luck of that item. Every item has an average success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
