Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the item to which it is applied (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will drop during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure what can be improved upon an update.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item upgrader will be obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes in the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is Best item upgrader to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Leveling
