Is Tech Making Item Upgrade Better Or Worse
WoW Upgrades - The Item Level Upgrade Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the item level upgrade level by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item upgrader mod, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item upgrades will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with a button, which will show an image of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a positive and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with several new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items come from a different set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available when certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrade level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be spent on gear of a specific rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. For instance it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
