Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.

Components

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor.
